IAAC Independence Day Celebration
Theo Notaras Multicultural Function Centre
Saturday 16 August, 6.30 pm
India’s 61st Independence Day was celebrated at Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre, Canberra City by many different nationalities in record numbers. It was a true environment of multicultural spirit reflected in the festival. The hall was full before the program even started.
It was very rewarding to see so many happy faces enjoying the celebrations. Enthusiastic attendees kept pouring in filling the hall to its capacity of over 400, and spilling into the lobby and entrance hallway.
The program started with soothing instrumental music which set the tone for the whole evening.. The performance by different schools and individuals was vibrant and colourful. It was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The audience acknowledged the program being well balanced and of a high artistic standard. From there on, good quality items were performed till the very end. The program included a variety that catered to all age groups and started and finished on schedule. Sumptuous quality food was catered by Rani Restaurant and served with love. The decoration of the venue was highly appreciated.
