IAAC FINANCIAL MEMBERS,
This
is to inform you all that I (Returning
Officer) have received following two sets of nominations for the election of
the Office Bearers and Executive Committee.
The first set of
nominations is from the current IAAC Committee. This set of
nominations provides the names of candidates for the position of President,
Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and six committee members as listed
below.
President: The name of the
nominee is Deepak Raj Gupta.
Vice
-President: The name of the
nominee is Reena
Fernandez.
Secretary: The name of the nominee is
Tejinder S.Hunjon (Terry).
Treasurer: The name of the nominee is Paul Tarrant.
Members of the Executive
Committee: There are six
committee members’ positions and I have received six nominations. The names of
the nominees are: Mithun Koshy
Alexander, Ira Joshi, Sujata Rendev, Kalyana Chakradhar Ravinuthala, Prabhat
Nagaria, Bhagyashree Paranjape.
The
second set of nominations is from
three financial members of the IAAC. This set of nominations provides the names
of candidates for the position of Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer only
as listed below.
President: No nomination
Vice
-President: The name of the
nominee is Subhangi
Chakravarty
Secretary: The name of the nominee is Shweta
Chawla
Treasurer: The name of the nominee is Jeanette
D'Souza
Members of the Executive Committee:
No nominations
Since
there are two nominations for the position of
Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, therefore election by secret ballot
will be held (if required) in the AGM for these three positions only, as per the
IAAC Constitution clause 14.
The
AGM of IAAC financial members will be held on Saturday
6 August 2005 at

that entry to the AGM is only to current financial
members. All current financial members attending
the AGM need to carry their IAAC
membership cards.
To be eligible to
vote and to become a candidate, a proposer or seconder in the election
of the members of the Executive Committee in the annual general meeting at the
end of the financial year, the Ordinary
Member must have joined the
Association before the preceding 31
March, as per the IAAC Constitution clause 6
(b).
If a
member is unable to attend AGM and notifies the Returning Officer at least a
week before the date of AGM, the Returning Officer shall give the member a
ballot paper for vote in absentia. The member shall fill in the ballot paper,
put it inside an unsigned envelope, and put the unsigned envelope containing the
ballot paper inside another envelope which shall be signed by the member at the
top. It will be the member's responsibility to ensure that the signed envelope
reaches the Returning Officer before the date of the AGM. All votes in absentia
shall be added to those cast in AGM by the Returning Officer before the counting
starts under his supervision.
